You are a Theist.

There is one God, who is personal and who may or may not be known directly.’

Your theism may be the result of a link with one of the three ‘monotheistic’ faiths: Judaism, Christianity or Islam. Or, it may simply be the result of an inner longing or dissatisfaction that tells you that you will only be complete when you somehow know that the One who made you is personal and relational.

How can you be sure that you can know God, and that He accepts you? Our dissatisfaction betrays our alienation from God; and our consciences tell us that our attempts to climb our way back to God is at best temporary, and at worst, futile.

The only confidence we can have in knowing God is in what He has done us by coming to us in Jesus.

‘...there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.’

(Paul’s first letter to Timothy, 2:5-6)

‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one come to the Father except through me.

(Jesus in John 14:6)
